Maobi Obikwelu
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Hi, My name is Maobi! I’m the Office Coordinator at TCC where I am responsible for keeping everything organised and ensuring every client feels heard and dutifully attended to. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Economics as well as a certificate in Applied Social Science Research.
I try my best to embody the TCC’s dedication to cultural responsiveness and their trauma informed approach in every interaction that I have. I am especially passionate about making sure the nuances of all experiences, especially marginalised ones, are honoured and considered throughout each client’s journey with us.
My life goal is to bridge gaps, create safe spaces and figure out ways to make people feel their best and most authentic selves, whether in an interpersonal setting or on a larger scale, therefore I hope to further my education in Psychology, either in the clinical, operational or research field.
In my free time, I am very fond of the challenge of “DIY-ing” things, from my skin care to my own jewellery. I enjoy creating new recipes and blends to nourish myself holistically, as well as creating my own clothes through crocheting and sewing. When I’m not “DIY-ing”, I also enjoy writing and spending time with loved ones.
I look forward to making your experience with TCC as seamless, secure and healing as possible!
