Anxiety Therapy In Calgary
What is Anxiety & Panic?
Anxiety and panic are natural responses to stress or danger. They’re part of how our brains and bodies keep us safe. But sometimes, these responses become too intense or show up when there’s no real threat. Anxiety tends to be focused on future worries and “what if” thinking, while panic feels more immediate and physical, often coming on suddenly with intense fear or discomfort. Both can affect your thoughts, body, relationships, and ability to function. The good news is that anxiety and panic are common, and with the right support (like therapy), they can also be very treatable.
Common Symptoms:
Constant worrying or racing thoughts
Feeling restless or on edge
Difficulty concentrating or feeling "foggy"
Muscle tension, headaches, or jaw clenching
Stomach issues, nausea, or appetite changes
Trouble falling or staying asleep
Irritability or feeling easily overwhelmed
Rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, or chest tightness (especially during panic)
A sense of doom or fear of losing control during panic attacks
Avoiding certain places or situations out of fear

Expressive Arts Therapy
