Talk therapy gives us language and self-awareness. But understanding why we feel the way we do doesn't always change how we feel. This book is about the missing piece — learning to recognize what emotions feel like in your body, read your nervous system's signals, and build a relationship with yourself that actually lasts.

ABOUT THE BOOK

This book is for you if…

  • You know your patterns but can't stop them

  • You're curious about somatic approaches

  • You want to understand your nervous system

  • You feel disconnected from your body

  • You're a clinician working with trauma

  • You've done therapy but feel something's missing

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure if this book is for you? Here's what to know

  • This book is about the missing piece in most healing journeys — your body. You can understand your patterns, name your triggers, and explain your story, and still feel stuck. That often happens when insight lives only in your mind and hasn't reached your nervous system yet. This book is about closing that gap.

  • It's a practical, step-by-step guide that walks you through how trauma, stress, and emotional patterns get stored in the body — and what to do about it. You'll learn how to read your body's signals, understand your nervous system's responses, and build practices you can actually use in your everyday life. Each chapter includes reflections and exercises you can start right away.

  • A different relationship with your body. Most people finish this book feeling like they finally have language for something they've always felt but couldn't name — and tools to actually work with it. Whether you're someone who's been in therapy for years or just starting to explore this work, you'll come away with a clearer understanding of why you respond the way you do, and a gentler way to begin changing it.

—AMY LEWIS BEAR, licensed professional counselor and author of When Loving You Means Losing Me

  • “In Where Do You Feel That in Your Body?, Simone offers a thoughtful and compassionate invitation to explore how our experiences live within the nervous system and shape our relationship to safety, emotion, and connection. With clarity and care, she makes complex ideas about embodiment and trauma accessible without losing their depth, honoring the intelligence of the body and the complexity of the healing process. This is the kind of resource I can imagine returning to often.”
