Hi, I’m Milena (she/her) excited to support you in making the change you’re ready to create. I’m a first-generation immigrant from Eastern Europe (Serbia), and that experience really shapes how I show up in sessions. Growing up in an Eastern European culture, where mental health concerns aren’t talked about, I learned a lot about how much people carry silently and with shame. It has taught me to listen closely for the nuances— what’s said, what’s hinted at, and what’s carried quietly. The sensitivity I have in recognizing the hidden layers people carry helped inspire me to become a therapist who supports others in a way that honours all of those layers.

As a neurodivergent therapist, I also recognize that the world often expects people to fit into boxes that weren’t designed for them. Standardized approaches don’t always work for every brain, and I’m intentional about adapting therapy to meet clients’ unique needs by using an integrative approach. Having navigated my own complexities, I bring flexibility and heartfelt validation into the room for those who have felt “too much” or “not enough” in other spaces. My goal is to offer a space where you feel fully understood, where your story is held with care, and where you can reconnect with who you are and who you’re becoming.

At the core of everything I do is simple intention to help people feel genuinely understood and supported as they move toward establishing a life that aligns with who they truly are. My mission is to support clients who feel stretched between cultural expectations and meeting their own needs, who are navigating life transitions, or who are trying to understand themselves within systems that weren’t built with them in mind. I work from an intersectional, culturally responsive lens that understands the impact of collectivist values, allowing you to show up without having to justify why certain expectations or dynamics feel ingrained in your life. You can come as you are, with all of your layers and complexities, and know that they’ll be met with understanding. I understand how messy, complicated, and beautiful the human experience can be, and I’m here to work with you to navigate yours.

Because your needs and experiences are complex and unique, I use an integrative approach drawing from DBT, CBT, EFT, and ACT that is adapted to the layers of who you are and what you’re navigating. Your values and strengths guide our work, supporting you in gaining clarity and creating meaningful change.
