About Aisha:
Hi, I’m Aisha! I am a therapist, a mother, a proud Pakistani-Canadian, and someone who genuinely loves connecting with people and hearing their stories. Because of my own multicultural experiences, I understand that mental health doesn’t exist separately from culture, religion, family expectations, immigration experiences or intergenerational dynamics. Sometimes the advice to “just set a boundary” or “do what makes you happy” doesn’t capture the complexity of belonging to a family or community where relationships and responsibilities carry enormous meaning. Those complexities are welcome in our sessions. I know that sometime walking into a therapy room or even joining virtually for a session, can feel daunting or even intimidating. My hope is to create a space where you can exhale a little, be yourself, and know that we’ll figure things out together. Relationships are a big part of the work I love to do. Maybe you and your partner keep having different versions of the same argument. Maybe one of you wants to talk while the other shuts down. Maybe there has been hurt, betrayal, resentment or years of feeling unheard. I’m interested in what’s happening underneath the conflict….the hurt, the fear, loneliness, longing and unmet needs that can be much harder to put into words. My approach is warm, relational, collaborative, trauma-informed, and attachment focused. I don’t believe in squeezing every person into the same therapeutic box. I want to understand YOUR story, YOUR patterns, and what YOU need from therapy.
