About Deanne:

I’m Deanne. I live and practice on Treaty 7 territory, on the traditional lands of the Îyârhe Nakoda Nations, the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. Living and working here reminds me that healing is shaped by land, history, and relationship. This awareness grounds how I practice, with humility, context, and care.

I speak these words with deep respect, while holding an awareness that parts of my own ancestral languages, Tagalog and Visayan, were not fully carried forward through migration. That history shapes how I understand identity and belonging. It reminds me that loss can be subtle and embodied, and that healing often begins not with certainty, but with reconnection to story, to place, and to ourselves.

I believe our struggles make sense in context. They are shaped by attachment experiences, family dynamics, cultural narratives, life transitions, and the broader systems we move through. Therapy is not about fixing what is wrong. It is about making sense of what has been carried, what has been silenced, scattered, or forgotten, and creating space for something more aligned and true. The way I hold space has been shaped by these threads: by what it means to carry loss, to search for belonging, and to discover healing not in answers, but in connection.

I come to this work as a fellow human, Filipino Canadian, first-generation, shaped by attachment, rupture, and meaning-making. I work with teens (13+) and adults who are often in a season of questioning. Something feels unsettled in their identity, relationships, or direction. They are not looking for quick techniques or surface-level change, but for a deeper, more honest understanding of themselves.

My work is rooted in humanistic and anti-oppressive practice, with a deep respect for your inner wisdom. I incorporate attachment and narrative lenses, draw from Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, and at times integrate visual art therapy and guided drawing to support exploration beyond words. Whether we are speaking, reflecting, or creating, the focus remains the same: deepening awareness, strengthening connection, and fostering self-trust.

In our sessions, we slow down. You won’t be reduced to a diagnosis. You will be met as a whole person who is shaped by experience and capable of growth. You don’t have to do this alone
